Terms of Use

These Terms apply to NYX AAC, an assistive communication application. By creating an account or signing in, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Who may use it

You confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or that you are the parent or legal guardian of the person using the app and that you accept these Terms on their behalf.

What this is — and is not

NYX AAC is an educational / assistive communication tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or professional clinical decisions. It does not replace a therapist, teacher, physician, or other qualified professional. Use it only under appropriate adult or professional supervision where needed.

Accounts and information

We collect what is needed to run the service: account credentials, session data, and optional items you choose to add (such as an avatar, custom images, or a cloned voice). Picture-use statistics may be stored to operate in-app insights. Do not upload information you are not authorized to share.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential, for how the account is used, and for obtaining any consent required in your setting (school, clinic, or home).

Limitation of liability

The service is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions made by users or supervisors based on the app. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under Canadian or provincial consumer law, including in Quebec.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after an update, or a new acknowledgement at sign-in, constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
